I do know the difference between a act that is intrinstically wrong and one that is merely wrong by legal force. And among those that are merely wrong by legal force, there can be some that are more serious than others. An example of a serious legal-force violation being arrested for trying to sneak into (not out of) a prison. It would not be wrong if one's intention was good, but it seems reasonable that it could be a thing worthy of imprisonment under civil law.

It seems to me that government has the right to deport those who flaunt its immigration laws, but not that it has the right to behave as if the breaking never happened by giving illegals amnesty. They could, of course, be deported and then return legally under expanded immigration laws; I would have no problem with that, except for the cultural one that I mentioned in a different comment.Old Fashioned Liberalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15139437884293877190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2756071385058486529.post-50883225794914079072008-11-25T11:12:00.000-05:002008-11-25T11:12:00.000-05:00But it's a civil violation, like speeding, not a c...But it's a civil violation, like speeding, not a criminal violation. Essentially I compare the deportation idea to revoking the liscence of every single person pulled over for speeding. It seems rather excessive. Old Fashioned Liberalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15139437884293877190noreply@blogger.com
